MY PRACTICE
I currently offer three session experiences in person: Biodynamic Massage (60 Minutes), Biodynamic Cranial Therapy (60 Minutes), and Biodynamic Bodywork and Somatic Healing Sessions (90 minutes) at my office in Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, Washington. I also offer Online Somatic Embodiment Sessions (60 minutes). I also offer Pop-up treatments in Portland, Oregon two to four times a year. Each session is an opportunity to listen deeply and respond to what is wanting to be seen, felt, and healed. Thus, each session is a collaboration of awareness between the client and myself.
All of the modalities and methods I’ve studied find their way into the bodywork I offer, but they arise organically, as movements my system uses to meet the client’s system’s needs. Each treatment is unique. Any formulas of movement are dropped. Biodynamic work recognizes each body’s inherent intelligence as its greatest resource, and orients to each client in a way that supports their inherent self-healing mechanisms to direct the session.
Biodynamic Massage follows the movements of fascia and muscles to find the most still, quiet places in the client's system to direct change and healing. I listen to the client's system and follows cues for movement, tissue engagement, pressure, unwinding, and stillness. It is a practice of deep listening which seeks to nurture the inherent health and self-healing mechanisms of the body through heart-centered therapeutic touch. A session can bring profound regulation to the central nervous system, glandular system, and psycho-emotional-spiritual dimension the recipient. The approach is holistic, meaning it considers the entire person—physical, emotional, and energetic—rather than just targeting specific symptoms. A Biodynamic session enlivens one’s felt-sense of wholeness and connection to the nature within.
Biodynamic Massage uses oil or lotion and the client disrobes to their comfort level and is draped with a sheet like a typical massage.
Biodynamic Cranial Therapy works with the subtle fluctuations of the nervous system and subtle body. It is a practice of deep listening which seeks to nurture the inherent health and self-healing mechanisms of the body through heart-centered therapeutic touch. A session can bring profound regulation to the central nervous system, glandular system, and psycho-emotional-spiritual dimension the recipient. The practitioner palpates and follows the most still and quiet places in the client so that change is invited into their body and being. A Biodynamic session enlivens one’s felt-sense of wholeness and connection to the nature within.
Biodynamic Cranial Therapy is typically performed over clothing.
A Biodynamic Bodywork Session includes Biodynamic Massage, Cranial Therapy, Somatic Inquiry and Trauma Healing. We begin each session with a check-in about what the client notices about their mental, emotional, spiritual and physical body. Through talk and therapeutic touch, I offer attuned presence as a container inviting the conversation between a client and their inner healer to ignite and evolve. I show up to a session to meet each client- their body and their multidimensional Self where they are at. Relating in this way allows the client's system to feel securely met, potentiates the “letting go” of patterns of tension and defense mechanisms that are no longer needed, and to explore their inner resources. When we are relationally held in neutral loving presence, our system’s are able to relax, open, and re-pattern— new ways of being are birthed and integrated from our most primal and true nature. Folks seeking relational resonance and bodywork that can hold space for the unwinding and expression of developmental and attachment trauma, radical self-love and empowerment have found the specific energetics of my approach to Biodynamic Bodywork and Somatic Healing to be especially beneficial.
Online Somatic Embodiment Sessions support the exploration of client’s Somatic—mind body— system. Through attuned presence, co-regulation, and the relational field we track sensation and the inner workings of the client’s body and nervous system to support the development of the client’s inner compass and felt sense of aliveness. This work creates a container in which there is greater space and safety to feel, hear, and explore the sensations and parts of us that have been challenging to fully feel and integrate on our own. Using the felt sense as the guide for the session we explore and reignite pathways to feeling and gain an experiential understanding of that which sometimes gets stuck in the intellect. Theses sessions help clients who are seeking greater emotional agility, flexibility, resilience, and a felt sense of embodied coherence between their mind and body.
It can be helpful to receive this work with some level of regularity and consistency to invite the opportunity for rapport and trust to be established between our systems, and so that your body knows it can come to know our time together as a restorative resource. Depending on your lifestyle and what is going on with you, that regularity can be weekly, biweekly, monthly, or seasonally.
The integration and wholeness restored and felt in one's body after receiving this work is lasting and ripples out into all facets of one's quality of life.
